Position Overview
The Cheverly Swim & Racquet Club is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and community-minded Head Swim Coach to lead the Cheverly Dolphins competitive summer swim team for the 2027 season, June 5 through July 24, 2027.
The Head Coach is the primary coach and leader of the Dolphins program, responsible for personally leading all practices and swim meets, developing swimmers across a range of ages and abilities, supervising the assistant coaching staff, and helping create a positive, competitive, and inclusive team culture.
The Head Coach works closely with the Swim Team Liaison, CSRC Board of Directors, Pool Operations Manager, assistant coaches, parent volunteers, and families to make the Dolphins experience successful for swimmers of all abilities.
About the Dolphins
The Dolphins are a community-based competitive summer swim team and a member of the Prince-Mont Swim League (PMSL). The team includes swimmers with a wide range of ages, abilities, and competitive goals.
We value swimmer development, teamwork, sportsmanship, personal growth, and community. Our goal is to provide a summer swimming experience in which every swimmer has the opportunity to improve, contribute to the team, and enjoy being part of the Dolphins.
Compensation & Schedule

Job Classification: Part Time
Estimated Starting/Ending Date (Not guaranteed): 4/1/27-9/1/27
Min/Max Hourly Wage: $30–$40 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Benefits: Paid sick and safe leave is available under Maryland Healthy Working Families Act for eligible employees who are at least 18 years of age as of 1/1/27 and regularly scheduled to work at least 24 hours per bi-weekly pay period.
The 2027 swim season runs from June 5 through July 24, 2027. This is a seasonal position with a variable schedule that increases substantially during the competitive season. The Head Coach should expect a 40+ hour per week commitment during the peak June–July swim season, with fewer hours in April and May as the team prepares for competition.
Regular Practice Schedule
Monday–Friday
- Morning: 7:15–9:30 a.m.
- Afternoon: 5:30–7:30 p.m.
The Head Coach is expected to personally lead all practices, with assistant coaches providing support.
The Dolphins participate in approximately eight Saturday meets during the June 5–July 24 season. The Head Coach is expected to attend and lead all meets, generally from approximately 7:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Additional hours may be required for team planning, swimmer evaluation, staff management, parent communication, meet preparation, and other program responsibilities.
