Cheverly Dolphin Swim Team
We are the Dolphins, the mighty, mighty Dolphins!!!

News Flash:

Don't miss the Dolphins' Stroke and Turn Clinics!  These clinics are designed for swimmers on the Dolphin's Team.  The clinics will follow morning practices, 9:30-10:30, during the week of June 17-21.  A different stroke will be featured each day, as well as a focus on dives and turns.  This is a great way to tune up for the summer competition season. The cost is $10/day  Here's the link for registration.

The Cheverly Dolphin swim team is open to all proficient swimmers, ages 8 – 18. The
swimmers on this team should know all four strokes (freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly), and be able to swim the length of the pool in at least one stroke. Our youngest swimmers routinely complete 20-30 laps (~500 – 750m) per practice, while our senior swimmers routinely complete 60-70 laps (1500-1700m). This team requires a high level of family involvement.

This team, which competes in the Prince-Mont Swim League, offers two levels of
competition. The competitive season includes five (5) A-meets, a Divisionals meet and
an All-Stars meet. Based on speed and competition, the coaches select the event(s) in
which the swimmers will compete. The B-meets give newer swimmers the chance to
experience team and individual competition in a less competitive environment. In these
meets, the swimmers select the event(s) in which they want to swim. Each swimmer
must own a team suit.

Dolphin Team Fees & Registration
The Dolphin Swim team fee is $50 per swimmer for the season. Each Dolphin must be
registered to participate. The fee covers the team’s expenses including the coaches,
ribbons and trophies. You can register your child(ren) here: click here to sign up. To pay any of the fees, the link to the portal is here: CSR payment portal

Dolphin Team Practices
Swimmers are encouraged to participate in at least one practice each day. The
morning practice is recommended because it is longer and the lanes are less crowded
since the team has use of the full pool before it opens.

Volunteers

Please remember that our team depends strongly on our family volunteers. It takes 40 adult volunteers to run each meet. Each family should volunteer for at least one job per swimmer this summer. There are lots of jobs to be done before, during and after each meet. (And more experienced volunteers will train newer volunteers!)

But most importantly, we need adults to complete the PMSL training for official positions. If your child(ren) has been on the team at least one year, it is time for you to start thinking about getting trained! Information on the training sessions can be found on the PMSL website.
